Dear Daughter,

Dear Daughter,

Yes, I already wrote you this month, but I'm going to do it again. You're my favorite person to think about. I feel like I reminesce over your past, dream of your future, and relish in our delicious present moments together.

Today we went to a birthday party for one of your new best friends, a little boy named Ellis. He's smart and kind and you two get along fabulously. You met him about a month ago on the first day of Kindergarten. He sat across from you and the first words out of your mouth were, Do you want to be friends?" He said yes and you two have been chatting it up in class ever since.

The birthday party today was at a roller rink. It was your first time skating and you fell...
a lot. Even though it hurt, you kept going
You cried and cried, but you refused to give up. You wanted to skate and we're determined to do it. You improved so much in the few hours of the party. During the first lap, we couldn't go more than a few steps without falling and by the end, we did two whole laps with no tumbles. We took your skates off to find blistered feet. You still wanted to keep going even though your feet really hurt.

I hope that you can apply the same attitude about skating to your life. If you really want something, you keep going even when you get knocked down, even when it's uncomfortable. It's okay to cry, just take a breath and then keep going.

You're such an inspiration to me. I love seeing your approach to life and how your so courageous and confident, but also gentle and caring. You're an amazing little girl and I'm so glad you're in my life. You make every day more wonderful.

Yours Truly,
Me
